Sheath: You will get a fancy two-tone overseas made leather sheath for each knife, one with a left hand belt loop, the other right. Instead of snaps the retainer strip affixes to a prong. These are made of thick leather. Do not store swords in leather sheaths long term because the chemicals in leather can corrode/tarnish metal.

Product is a pair of custom designed Butterfly Swords, made by hand.   All measurements and weights approximate.

These Butterfly Swords feature an extraordinarily difficult set of grinds that Forgemaster K. Ali, the man who recommended making BJD out of D-2 tool steel, called "challenging."  The name arose because this style blade is a knife maker's nightmare to grind.  The prototype pair sold for $1,695 on the knife collector web-site Arizona Custom Knives in about 2 days. We made a very limited quantity of Collector's Grade Nightmare Grind Butterfly Swords with a double concave grind and Cocobolo handles.

The swords feature Iron Man Steel's high quality glossy finish (you could even call it mirror finish these days) Böhler 440C blade steel, cast AISI 304 stainless steel D Guard, handle scales over an American style full tang, and a sharp cutting edge.  They have 12" blades and are flippable between a forward and reverse grip.  We are finally happy with the overseas sheaths, they are pretty cool in two tone with border details.  Some have 8 small pins and some have 8 small pins and 2 mosaic pins.

Pricing depends on grade.
